Plastisol is an international, innovative family business with a history of over 40 years. Founded in 1973, the company initially started with the production of water and foam tanks. When Rob Walraven took over the business from his father in 1985, Plastisol’s focus shifted to the field of fire engines and the further development of complete bodies, cabs and cab extensions. Export also became increasingly important. Currently over 90% of all Plastisol products are exported worldwide and the company now has a home market share of over 50%.
Plastisol’s head office in Wanroij, located in the southern Dutch province of Noord-Brabant, employs over 125 people on a 12,000 m2 facility. This is where the bodies, cabins, cab extensions and tanks are designed, developed, constructed and produced. The products made from glass-fibre reinforced polyester, the so-called composite sandwich constructions, are sold to an ever expanding market.
Plastisol also has manufacturing facilities in Lancashire (Leyland) in the United Kingdom, and in Groton (New York) in the United States.
